We tried to make the day special for her. Mommy took the day off of work to spend it with the Birthday Girl and Daddy. We started our day off with her 12 month doctor's appointment at 9:20. I don't know what I was thinking making the poor girl get shots on her birthday, but oh well, she did good! She is still a healty 12 month old girl :) Stats below!
After the doc, Taylor was cranky and sleepy. She fell asleep in the car on the way home, so we put her back in bed when we got home. She slept for about an hour and a half. After nap time, we all went to Red Robin for some lunch. She loved looking up at the ceiling and all the fun stuff they have hanging in the restaurant. She even got her first kids meal - grilled cheese and apple slices. She had on her Birthday Girl shirt, so the waitress had the other servers sing to her and brought her an ice cream sundae. She had a few bites, but I think Mommy enjoyed it more :)
After lunch, it was time to get ready to go to Mommy's work for Boo Day! Sherry, Owen, Nana, Grandpa, Uncle Doug and Grandma Stephens all joined in the fun too! Each area in the building decorates in their own theme and then the kids get to go around and trick-or-treat. Our area was the Big Top Circus - it was awesome! The babies had fun going around to the different areas. Nugget was all over the place! Fun was had by all - especially Grandpa and Uncle Doug who stole all the candy :)
By the time we got home, it was time to wind down. We spent the evening watching World Series baseball and playing as a family. I can hardly believe she's actually 1! She has brought so much joy and happiness into our lives and I wouldn't trade a second of the last year for anything! You never really know the meaning of love until you bring a life into this world!
Here is the update of what's been going on with her in the last month:
- She weighs 24 pounds, 1.5 ounces putting her in the 89th percentile!
- She is 30.25" long and the 86th percentile!
- Her head is 18" in circumference, which is the 76th percentile. She has been holding steady in all of her growth measurements.
- She has crawled a total of probably 10 movements - haha! She definitely prefers the scooting to any crawling. How else would she take her toys with her?
- She's getting a lot better at standing. She can hold onto something and stand there for a few minutes at a time. She is starting to pull up to her knees and reach into her toy basket or try to get on the couch. We're working on pulling up to standing. She definitely wants to and gets frustrated when she can't do it.
- She has 7 teeth now - they are popping through like crazy! Both front teeth are in, as well as the ones right next to it. Her little grin looks so adorable!
- She had her first fever last weekend before her party - Sat night to Monday morning. It never got about 100.4
- She is starting to shake her head "no" and dance a little - it's so cute!
- She is still drinking 3 bottles and having 2 good meals a day with snacks in between.
- She is pretty much in all 18 month clothes. The 12 months are just a little bit too tight!
- Still sleeping like a champ! Bedtime is 8:30 and she usually sleeps close to 12 hours. She's the best!
