This winter has been sooo strange! Temperatures in the 50's some days - rain and no snow! So when it snowed 2" on Friday night, we had to make the most of it!
Daddy bought Taylor a hot pink sled and we took it for a spin on Sunday. She loved going down the hill in the backyard with Daddy! Daddy had to show her what it was all about and almost crashed into the swingset - had to ditch at the last minute - HA!
She also loved making snow angels - like Caillou (one of her fave TV shows on PBS).
I hope we have another opportunity to bust out the sled this winter!

2 Months
Our baby girl is 2 months old already - the time is really flying! Here's some details on Ava right now :)
Weight = 12 lbs 11 oz ~ 91st percentile
Height = 24 1/2" ~ 98th percentile (Dr. Waier said she is the height of an average 5 month old!)
She is still in her 3 month clothes, but I don't think it's going to be long before she's in 6 month....growing too fast!
She had her well baby check on Friday and is perfectly healthy! She had to get 3 shots and an oral vaccine :( She was definitely a little fussier than normal that day, but quickly went back to her old self again.
Eating:
She is currently taking 6 - 5 ounce bottles a day - usually around 3:00/4:00 am; 8:00 am; 11:30 am; 3:00 pm; 6:00 pm; 10:00 pm. 5 oz. is almost not cutting it anymore, so we've bumped up to 6 oz.
Sleeping:
Ava is doing great! She will go down after her last bottle, usually around 10:30 or 11:00. She gets up one time per night - around 3 or 4, then goes back to sleep until 8:00 or so. Not going to complain!
Her big sister is in love with her and it is so adorable to see! Ava is also starting to smile and coo a little bit.

Fun Week!
Little Miss Taylor had a super fun week! And I must admit, it was nice to get out of the house :)
Monday - Mommy & Ava went for a visit to the office. It was nice to see all my friends/co-workers and introduce them to Ava. And catching up with Bre & Sheila over lunch at Chili's was awesome! Meanwhile, Daddy & Taylor went to the library and checked out some books and played. For lunch, they got to go to Burger King where Taylor scarfed down her chicken nugget kids meal and got to play in the playscape. Zack said she cried when he told her it was time to leave :)
Tuesday - Mommy, Taylor & Ava met Aunt Sherry & Owen at the library for a story time. There was lots of music, dancing and interaction. Taylor loved it! She was shaking her booty and tried to do all of the dance moves the teacher was doing. When each song ended, she would turn around and look at me and say "One More" while holding up her little finger - too cute! The weather has been seriously un-winter-like - highs in the 40s and no snow in sight. With the temps in the high 40s we even got a family walk in on Tuesday night - Ava's 1st!
Thursday - Taylor got a Build A Bear gift card for Christmas from Uncle Trent and we decided to cash it in! She had a lot of fun picking out her teddy bear, giving its heart a kiss and helping to pick out her outfit. She named her Ariel (like every doll she has...) and helped me push the buttons on the computer when making Ariel's birth certificate. She even carried her bear in its home through the mall. After the mall we made a stop at Jungle Java. We had never been and I was anxious to try it out. It's serious fun for kids! She was a little hesitant at first, but then warmed up to it. Daddy even got to go around in the play structure with her. We had lunch there and then came home for nap time. Ava had her first public blow out - it was a mess! Yuck!

Big Girl Bed Success!
We wanted to get a few days of naps under our belts before trying a night time out. It's been over a week of naps so we decided to try night time tonight. Well, it's been a 1/2 hour and all is quiet! Woo-hoo!!!
So proud of our big girl!
Next phase: give Taylor a week of night time sleeping in the big girl bed, then transition Ava into the crib. We're almost there!!!!

Sick Baby :(
Well...the non stop circulation of germs in this house finally got to Ava. The poor little baby has a bad cough :( After a trip to the pediatrician, it was just deemed a cold, but she sounds awful! 2 nights ago she slept from 11:30 to 7:30 - normally this would be a welcome sight, but since it was because she was too sick to want to eat, it wasn't. Thankfully, her appetite has come back and she seems to be eating normal. She will have a coughing fit every few hours, but she still can breathe fine, eat and sleep.
The only plus side of the unexpected trip to the doc - we got to see how much she weighs now! Our little chunker monker has gained 2.5 lbs in the last month and is up to 11 lbs. 10 oz. She is growing up WAY too fast!

One month old!
On 12/21, our little Ava Bean turned 1 month old! Time is flying by! Here is a cute picture of her at one month old :)
We are not quite sure of her height/weight since we haven't been to the doc since she was 2 weeks old. But, here are some other highlights of her during this month:
We are not quite sure of her height/weight since we haven't been to the doc since she was 2 weeks old. But, here are some other highlights of her during this month:
- We seem to have worked past the having the be held to sleep at night thingy we were going through. She is now sleeping really well at night. She usually takes her last bottle anywhere between 10:30 and 11:30 and then goes right down. She will get up once a night, usually around 3:00 ish, and again go right back down. Then she will sleep until 7:00 or so. She's doing great!
- Speaking of eating, she is crushing 4 ounces at most of her feedings. She loves to eat :) During the day she will typically want to eat every 3-4 hours, which isn't too bad!
- She is becoming more alert and having longer stretches of awake time during the day.
- She is still not the most content baby in the world, but she's getting better! In complete contrast to her big sis, she doesn't last very long in her bouncy seat or swing, but she's definitely going longer stretches now. It just makes doing things for Taylor, or around the house, difficult with a baby who lasts 5 minutes before crying.
- Her big sister is OBSESSED with her :) Taylor loves to hold her hand, kiss her and talk to her. If she's crying because she's hungry, T will tell her, "It's OK Ah-va....Mommy's coming!". Super cute! One night at bedtime, I told T to tell Ava good night and she said "I love you Ah-va"....melts my heart! She repeatedly tells me throughout the day that Ah-va is cuuuute :)
