Taylor was sick this weekend -puffy, watery eye; runny nose; cranky and not sleeping good. The first few days we brushed it off to teething (she's had 2 molars pop through in the last week). Finally on Sunday night I thought that maybe it was an ear infection. She is tough to figure out because she doesn't run a fever or pull at her ears when she gets an ear infection. So I told Zack maybe he should take her to the doctor on Monday morning. So he did and sure enough - double ear infection!
I think it's normal to question your parenting skills from time to time - am I doing it right, why do I just want to sit on the couch when I should be playing with her, etc. etc. Not going to lie, those thoughts and many more cross my mind a million times a day. That's why when I had an intuition and it turned out to be correct, I felt awesome :) Well, not awesome because she was sick, but it made me feel good that maybe I am a good parent.
Now she's got the antibiotics in her and is on the path to wellness yet again :) Thanks to my intuition :)

Poor Baby :(
Poor little Taylor has had a miserable weekend. She woke up Friday night with a poop in her diaper. After I changed her, it took about 1.5 hours to get her back to sleep. Then, she was up early with a puffy, watering left eye, a leaky faucet nose and cranky as all get out! I have a feeling it is teeth...I felt a new one and have a feeling maybe one or more are trying to get through. She's been super drooly, cranky and always has to be held, or she's whining. I feel so bad for her, wish I could make it all go away!
In other news, we were supposed to get 1-3" of snow today and there's about 7" on the ground already. This should make for a fun drive into work in the morning......NOT!

Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day 2011 was fairly low-key, but awesome none the less :)
I woke up to a card in my purse (it was stashed away so I would find it later...). I also got a lunch date with Zack and Taylor! We went to Sheesh out by my work - I bit the bullet and took Zack there even though I'm not the biggest fan of Mediterranean food!! When he picked me up at the office, Taylor and him had a flower for mommy :) It really made my day!
Taylor got a card from Mommy & Daddy along with 2 new books - First Words and Elmo's ABC's and some Sesame Street bath toys. She also got a Colors book and heart PJ's from Grandma and Grandpa Stephens.
Zack had to work tonight, which was a bummer, but he knows he's my valentine 365 days a year :)

Beast in the Backyard
I've actually been meaning to make this post for awhile now. We have a beast living in our backyard. Is it a mole, a groundhog, ???? These mounds popped up once the first snow fall melted. I took these pictures in late December before the big snow came. I can't wait for spring to see how many of these we have.....

B is for Bear
Taylor officially has a favorite book - "B is for Bear". She got it from Uncle Ed & Aunt Kerry at the Stephens' Christmas exchange. We keep it downstairs because she wants to read it so much!
All we have to say is, "Taylor, where's your bear book" and she goes over to the shelf, pulls that one out (there are about 10 there - so she knows which one it is!) will proceed to scoot herself over to you, hand you the book, turn around, and climb onto your lap. She then proceeds to turn every page just at the right time. It's the cutest thing!
There is a page for every letter of the alphabet and most pages have some kind of texture to feel. She has 3 favorite pages - M is for Mouth to whisper and yell; N is for Nose what can you smell? and Y is for You - Go on take a look! She leans down and gives pages M and N a kiss each for some reason and then the Y page has a mirror, so she'll lean down and give herself a kiss. So funny!
This kid sure loves her bookies!

Superbowl Champions!
The Packers are Superbowl Champions! Such an exciting game that really came down to the wire, but they pulled off the 31-25 victory over the Pittsburg Steelers.
We spent the day at Mom and Dad's with Ian, Sherry, Owen and the E's. We had tons of good food - subs, wings, buffalo chicken dip, chips & dip. Taylor was a little trooper! As the game got closer and closer, I couldn't leave....so we kept the little pumpkin up until about 10:30 and she was doing fine! She would just get a little grumpy if you were trying to hold her still, she wanted to be moving around. Dad said to her around 9:30..."Taylor, suck it up, it's the Superbowl"....hahaha! She went right down as soon as we got home. It's confirmed, we have the best baby in the whole entire world :)
What a great night!!!! GO PACK GO!

Snow Day...sort of!
Well, it didn't live up to it's full potential/prediction, but we did get hit with a bunch of snow. The totals ended up being more like 8", I think, but it was pretty hard to tell how much we got when it was blowing around all day long!
I chose NOT to brave the elements and opted to work from home instead. I was pretty busy all day long, but it was still nice to be home with Zack and Taylor :)
